California’s Classroom Aquarium Education Program: Trout in the Classroom Coordinator and Lecturer (January 2021 — March 2024)

• Coordinated sponsored teachers submitting state applications

• Recruited undergrad coaches to support teachers

• Presented trout life cycle at teacher training sessions (3x/year to average 40 teachers/session) and elementary science fair

• Created instructional classroom videos for teachers and students

• Participated in TIC Live episodes as resident fish scientist

• Applied to, and received, funding for new aquarium setups to expand the Santa Cruz county program

UCSC EEB GSR: R tutor for Graduate Students (March 2023 — May 2023)

• Tutored two graduate students (one EEB and one ENVS) 

• Held one-on-one sessions with each student to teach data organization, version control, good coding practices, and basic functions in R tidyverse packages

• Assisted each student in wrangling their own data to produce preliminary results for their first dissertation chapters

UCSC Doris Duke Scholars Conservation Program: Graduate Mentor (June 2021 — August 2021)

• Provided undergraduate Doris Duke Conservation Scholars with local support in Santa Cruz and on UCSC campuses/reserves during their summer internships 

• Organized weekly talks with various local scientists and optional bonding activities in Santa Cruz on the weekends

• Supported Doris Duke staff in safety and logistics for end of summer camping retreat in Point Reyes
